Getting Started in Civics
BEFORE STARTING TO WORK IN THE COURSE:
1. Refer to the Welcome Email to complete the welcome process. You will then be activated in the course!
2. Receive Activation Email & Pace Chart. Print out Pace Chart and follow weekly!
At this time, you can then begin working in the course...

SEGMENT 1 - WHERE TO GO FIRST:
Once you log into the course, Click on Lessons, then click on Getting Started. When done, ready to start your first lesson, so click on 01 Citizenship, which will open the first lesson, 1.00 Citizenship Introduction. Read through this lesson and print the Citizenship Checklist, if you choose. Then, continue onto 1.01 How Do We Define the United States? lesson. Read through the lesson, print & complete the CAP File, take notes in your notebook, and then complete your first assessment, 1.01 How Do We Define the United States? Quiz, located under Assessments. You will then return to Lessons to continue on with the next lesson and assessment.

Read through this lesson and print the Active Citizens Checklist, if you choose. Then, continue onto 4.01 How Could Your Community Better Serve Teens? lesson. Read through the lesson, print & complete the CAP File, take notes in your notebook, and then complete your first assessment, 4.01 How Could Your Community Better Serve Teens? assignment. This assignment provides you with a template to help you create two paragraphs. You can then submit your paragraphs in the Student Comments section of the assignment, or attach a PDF file. The assignment submission can be located under Assessments. You will then return to Lessons to continue on with the next lesson and assessment.
